Meet Whitewater Ambassador,
Alex Barham

Whtewater ambassador, Alex BarhamAlex's love of whitewater and Mountainman dates back to his first boat, a Dagger Piedra which was his 12th birthday present back in 2000. Today Alex balances a full time career with paddling full time as Moutainman's Whitewater Ambassador. Living for the weekends, Alex can be found in the creeks and rivers of the Tug Hill and Adirondacks when they aren't frozen solid, and trying to catch a flight to paddle in warmer climates during the winter. Here's more from Alex:

"Paddlefest 2015 was my first experience working alongside the Mountainman staff. Truthfully, I only worked the event because every night we would paddle new demo boats and spend the ride home comparing designs to figure out how to match them to customer requirements. This blossomed over the years as Moutainman became a larger part of the whitewater community, supporting races and festivals, and allowing paddlers to try boats on real whitewater before purchasing.

At some point I decided that the growing barrage of questions I was answering in private messages and on the river meant that there was a lack of unbiased information available to paddlers. The subsequent growth and success of my Youtube channel has been surprising, and sometimes a little overwhelming. My goal has been, and will continue to be, to continue the tradition of those car rides so many years ago; test everything thoroughly, ignore hype, listen to the customer, speak from personal experience, and focus on the end user experience. Though the information and advice is always given freely, I do hope that you return the favor by supporting those that make what I do possible.
