Job Title: Boat Shop Assistant Manager

Reports To: Boat Shop Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is part of the company management team and works directly with the Boat Shop Manager and other managers to plan and implement all necessary operations for the success of Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company, including the goals specific to the Boat Shop.
- Primarily Responsible to assist in management of day-to-day operations of the store in all areas of store operations including but not limited to:
- Assisting and supervising daily activities of the Boat Store and Rental Shop;
- Overseeing the daily work of all employees and ensuring that all customers have a pleasant shopping experience;
- Responsible for handling and managing all areas of customer service;
- Responsible for handling of cash and sales receipts;
- Assist with operations at boat shop during Adirondack Paddlefest;
- Assist in overseeing the inventory of the store and accordingly placing replenishment orders;
- Maintaining clean and safe conditions inside and outside of retail and rental shops;
- Ensuring high levels of customer service and customer satisfaction with all aspects of the boat and rental store;
- Assist in managing sales, merchandising, stocking and receiving in all areas of the shop;
- Follows industry trends and uses information to help chart a course for future implementation of store sales and marketing strategies;
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Specifications
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be a team leader and possess the ability of keeping employees focused and motivated.
- Experience and knowledge of outdoor equipment, specifically canoes, kayaks and SUP’s, and all related accessories and supporting materials.
- Possess past managerial experience.
- Exemplify a high level of professionalism in all aspects of daily conduct.
- Possess excellent computer and math skills.
- Must be physically fit and be able to lift at least 70 pounds.
- Must have a valid New York Driver’s License or the ability to secure one shortly after position begins.
