What to Expect at Adirondack Paddlefest
First off, you can expect to have fun! There will be plenty of paddling, browsing & shopping, and demonstrations to keep you busy all weekend. But if that’s not enough, there will be live music during Paddlefest and a Saturday night concert, an art show and sale, a fitness expo, fun, and more fun! Here are a few things to know to help you plan your weekend at Adirondack Paddlefest.
- Admission is $5 per day and Children under 12 are free.
- Test Paddle is $20 for the entire weekend & includes admission to Paddlefest. PFDs and paddles are provided. You can bring your own, but be sure to get them tagged at the Test Paddle check-in tent. (Bring appropriate paddlewear and a change of clothes.) Test fee is redeemable for boat purchase at Adirondack Paddlefest 2012.
- Demonstrations will be held throughout the weekend. Check the schedule on the website.
- Weather: there’s an old saying here in the Adirondacks, if you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes. Spring weather ranges from cool to warm, wet to dry, in one day! So dress accordingly and bring along a few layers so you can be comfortable.

Can I bring my dog to Paddlefest?
We love dogs as much as you do, but unfortunately our canine friends aren’t allowed.
Why is there a test paddle fee?
There is considerable expense in renting the beach area and manning it with staff and life guards. We charge a nominal fee that allows you to test paddle all weekend long in a safe environment with plenty of staff to assist you. Your test paddle fee helps pay for all this and, even better, is redeemable with a boat purchase.
Can I trade in my old canoe or kayak?
Yes! We will set up specific times and a location on Saturday and Sunday for trades. Check back for details or visit the Information Tent at Paddlefest. (You will probably come out better if you sale your boat yourself. Craigslist.com is a very effective way to find a buyer.)
